No high ground for Dems

  • Personally, I have no difficulty with President Trump ignoring protests over the depiction of the Obamas as ape-like. Bad taste - sure, but let's look at some of the vitriol flowing the other way. In 2008, Obama made this dismissive remark about the people who likely wouldn't vote for him.
  • 'And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations".
  • During the 2016 campaign, he got personal and stated that he would view a Trump victory as a: "personal insult". During the same campaign, the 'sainted' Michelle announced that Trump was: "incompetent" and "clearly in over his head". Trump's opponent, the unlovely Hillary, described his supporters as: "a basket of deplorables". Not exactly going for the middle ground there Hills!
  • On to 'Genius' Joe Biden, who  called Trump a: "loser" and a "threat to American democracy". Then, during a 2024 debate, Biden directly told Trump: "You're the sucker. You're the loser,". Also, for someone who seemed out of it during most of his tenure, the perennially un-self-aware President Biden, described Trump as: 'Sleepy Don'.
  • Among the lesser lights in the Democrat lineup we have: "a vile, unhinged and malignant bottom feeder" and a "disgrace" (Hakeem Jeffries). And finally: " a small, envious man" and "racist, vile, [and] abhorrent" (Chuck Schumer).
  • If I can add a quote to the saga it is: 'What goes around, comes around'.
