2-Speed Pope

Retired Catholic priest Rev Wayne Healey, writing in New Zealand's 'Otago Daily Times', lauds the new 'peace and justice' Papal appointee. My initial disquiet is that as a missionary Bishop in Peru, the new Pope was active on social media, disguising his identity by using his civilian name. Silly me thinking the priesthood was a vocation! Furthermore, the Pope used his civilian persona to castigate JD Vance on some obscure ecclesiastical point, but has missed any mention of the innocent lives saved by the overturning of Roe v Wade, during the first Trump presidency. Pro-life groups estimate the number as around 90,000. Nonetheless, Pope Leo's bio makes much of his pro-life stance. Finally, why no introspection, or social messaging as to why 400,000 Peruvians have left their native land to try their luck as illegals at the US border? The new Pope's missionary zeal in Peru seems to have been a singular failure.
